Teething is about more than sore gums. When those little teeth are pushing through, the constant discomfort can leave a child’s whole nervous system on overload — making them fussy, restless, harder to comfort, and sometimes unable to settle or sleep.

Tender Roots was created with that whole picture in mind. This gentle blend combines calming nervines with herbs traditionally used to support comfortable digestion and soothe irritated tissues. Calendula was intentionally included for its traditional soothing and tissue-supporting properties, making it especially fitting for tender, irritated gums. Research has also explored Calendula's wound-healing and oral-tissue applications.

Why No Clove?

You may notice that Tender Roots doesn't contain clove. Clove and its active compound, eugenol, are traditionally used as a topical approach for tooth discomfort because of their local numbing properties. But concentrated clove oil is not something that should be relied on as an internally administered pain-relieving herb for little ones. Accidental ingestion of clove oil has caused serious toxicity in an infant.

Instead, Tender Roots takes a different approach: support the nervous system, soothe the tissues, and support the little body as it works through this uncomfortable stage.
